ZTE Security Ensures Reliable Full-Scenario 5G Private Network for Various Industries
ZTE Corporation, the industry-leading supplier of information and telecommunication technology solutions, has constructed a one-stop 5G private network to push the digital transformation of various industries. To build a reliable and agile network that meets the requirements of different industrial applications, ZTE has paid close attention to its ZTE Security protection in an all-around way.
As the 5G started to be adopted for commercial use, communication, and information technologies are penetrated and integrated into various industries, and these industries’ digital transformation is constantly deepening. The variances between different industries dictate that network requirements in multiple scenarios are vastly different, such as port, factory, hospital, Internet of Vehicles (IoV), power grid, and cloud game. They have various needs with respect to network mobility, coverage, latency, bandwidth, isolation, security, and reliability, as well as a deployment environment.
ZTE’s Vision of 5G Security
The unified network architecture, physical form, and performance requirements cannot meet industrial applications’ highly tailored network requirements. ZTE has realized that telcos are urgent for an agile and flexible 5G private security network that is dedicated to diverse industries and offers simple O&M, customizable functions, flexible deployment, and SLA determination. This way, both costs, and security can be taken into account.
To fulfill the requirements of creating a private network in the vertical industry, ZTE delivers an E2E private network solution with a high-security standard, which covers the core network, MEC, and access network. The solution can offer on-demand specific telecom and IT cloud network capacities for industry applications.
Firstly, it is a fully assessed convergent network, so the network would be simpler. Secondly, the new R16 capabilities are introduced to decrease network latency, promote network reliability and offer the vertical industry E2E deterministic SLA. Furthermore, the 5G private network solution provides industry private networks with three-dimensional security protection, enhancing data security, user access security, and network security.
The E2E private network solution launched by ZTE offers four typical modes to meet the demands of differentiated network capability and adapt to various deployment environments, and the modes include:
- high-configuration dual-rack;
- medium-configuration dual-rack;
- medium-configuration single-rack;
- simple-configuration single-shelf.
It supports various requirements for network performance, capacity, scalability, and isolation, as well as can be flexibly applied as needed out-of-the-box, allowing telcos to fully enter the ToB market.
Dual-Rack 5G Private Network
Taking the high-configuration dual-rack private network as an example, some ultra-large-scale industries like petroleum chemical plants and iron & steel mills have a significant number of terminals that require high security, large bandwidth, and isolation. ZTE has published a high-configuration dual-rack private network solution with high security, which integrates network and cloud capabilities via the one-stop integration of a cloud cabinet and network cabinet.
The network cabinet is outfitted with industry-standard BBU, i5GC, and OLT to achieve FMC (fixed-mobile convergence) and support optical access and 5G access. Equipped with PaaS middle platform, third-party industrial applications, and a MEC platform, the cloud cabinet provides sufficient storage and computing resources.
ZTE has specially designed the device for high security: the cloud cabinet asset is isolated from its network cabinet, and the rack is locked on demand, ensuring the security of the industry assets and the telco’s assets. The 5G private networks can be used in the campus’ equipment rooms on demand to achieve low latency, and data can be locally processed and distributed, offering ultra-low latency as well as ensuring reliable and safe production in the industry.
As for the full-connection large-bandwidth, ZTE has flexibly configured BBU/OLT according to the different application scenarios, in order to support large-bandwidth optical access and 5G access, thus fulfilling a broad range of large traffic applications of campuses and production lines. Finally, ZTE has configured a cloud cabinet with a MEC platform to build a precise middle platform. At the same time, a data middle platform, a video middle platform, and an AI middle platform are selected as needed. The zero redundancy platform feature is being developed specifically for the industry to speed up the innovation of commercial applications.
Single-Shelf 5G Private Network
Some scenarios, like small venues, companies, and emergency response services, necessitate rapid network deployment, yet equipment room access is restricted, with no extra space to put new network devices. Therefore, ZTE has specially launched a single-shelf private network solution with high 5G security for that type of scenario. One V9200 shelf is set with UPF and BBU at the same time, and the data also is offloaded locally, resulting in lower latency. The single-stack 5G private network is reliable and can dynamically meet the network communication needs of small industrial scenarios like venues, campuses, and emergency response.
The prevalence of 5G makes the ToB market gradually become an essential profit growth point in the future for telcos, while industrial partners must strengthen the industry’s competitiveness by improving digital productivity and network security through 5G. The full-scenario 5G private network solution launched by ZTE can help telcos ensure high-security network construction, expand the industry market, as well as speed up the 5G digital transformation in the vertical industries.
